Youth Service Council

No act of charity will be foreign to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

The St. Vincent de Paul Youth Service Council (YSC) is a group of high school students who join together in service, friendship and faith. It is composed of Dane County high school students who represent their Catholic school or parish. Members join through an application process.

Members grow in leadership through selection, coordination, planning and implementation of efforts that support the mission of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Major service initiatives have included:

  • A spring fundraising walk
  • Holiday parties for residents of assisted living centers
  • The development of a unique scholarship program
  • Volunteering in Lacy Garden to plant, grow and harvest vegetables for our pantry

The YSC meets monthly/bi-monthly to brainstorm and plan service projects. They also spend time in spiritual formation, developing leadership skills and forming friendships. Members learn about the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and embrace its mission to serve others in faith and friendship.
