Youth Service Council

No act of charity will be foreign to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

The St. Vincent de Paul Youth Service Council (YSC) is a group of high school students (representing their Catholic school or parish) who join together in service, friendship and faith. Members grow in leadership through selection, coordination, planning and implementation of efforts that support the mission of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Members learn about the Society, embrace its mission to serve others, spend time in spiritual formation, develop leadership skills and form friendships.

Major service initiatives have included:

  • A spring fundraising walk
  • Holiday parties for residents of assisted living centers
  • The development of a unique scholarship program
  • Volunteering in Lacy Garden to plant, grow and harvest vegetables for our pantry

Members join the YSC through an application process and meet monthly/bi-monthly to plan service projects.

Youth Service Council Scholarship

Every academic year, the YSC provides post-high school scholarships to local students who otherwise may not be able to afford post-secondary education. In addition, the family of each recipient receives material (or additional) support, often in the form of rent credit, grocery store gift cards. Learn more.

Consider donating to show students your support for them and your belief in their dreams!
