About

Our Mission

The District Council of Madison — Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization in which members join together in friendship to grow spiritually by providing person-to-person services to our neighbors in need.

Who we are

What we do

We run seven fun, environmentally-friendly and welcoming St. Vinny’s Thrift Stores across Dane County. Our stores provide direct charity through a clothing, furniture and household goods voucher program for people living with low incomes. Sales from our stores help fund our charitable services!

We provide basic essentials like food, prescription medicine, clothing, furniture and household goods.

We also offer long-term assistance like microloans and housing support to newly housed single adult families. We provide a long-term storage space for people who are homeless to store their belongings; and, on a case-by-case basis, we offer portable cribs, energy assistance. We do not provide rent assistance.
