Food Pantry Volunteers

Provide Food to Our Neighbors:

The St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry provides food and personal-care items to Dane County families in need. If you care about ending food insecurity, then join the volunteer team!

  • Two-hour shifts available on weekday mornings and afternoons
  • Positions either inside or outside
  • Some pantry positions require the ability to bend, lift and carry up to 20 lbs
  • Safeguarding training and a background check required after 10 hours of volunteer service. Review Safeguarding Policy here.

Open Positions

Inside Cart Re-loader

  • Load boxes and bags of food into shopping carts to deliver to the drive-through pantry. Requires a weekly commitment and the ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.

Outside Food Loader

  • Load boxes and bags of food into vehicles as they come through the drive-through. Requires a weekly commitment and the ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.

Outside Cart Wrangler

  • Support Outside Food Loaders by delivering full shopping carts and retrieving empty carts. Requires a weekly commitment and the ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.

Online Order Filler

  • Fill and coordinate online pantry order requests including dry goods, dairy and frozen meat. Requires a weekly commitment and the ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.

Food Box Packer

  • Fill boxes and bags with pantry staples, cooking supplies and nonperishable items. Requires the ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

Food Stocker

  • Move cases of food from the warehouse to the box packing area. Requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Donation Sorter

  • Sort and package food and personal care donations for distribution to our neighbors in need. Only morning shifts are currently available.
