Hungry Tuesday is one of the busiest days of the year at the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. It’s also a 24-hour digital campaign to raise $20,000 to feed our neighbors in need.
About 193 families receive food from the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry each day. When our neighbors are short on rent, can’t afford to fill up their car, or can’t afford to pay their utility bill their options for help are limited. But because of you, there is a St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. Because of you, neighbors get fresh produce, meat, dairy products, pantry staples, personal-care items, cleaning supplies, diapers, and pet food.
As a kid, Tahkaney’s family relied on pantries for food. Now, she pays that generosity forward…
“I have long admired the vital services that St. Vincent de Paul — Madison offers to our community. They played a crucial role in ensuring food security for my family during my childhood. As a case manager, I’ve referred numerous clients to them for food, clothing, cribs, and furniture for their new homes!” – Tahkaney Becknell, Care Coordinator, Quartz Health Benefits

“I started taking food to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry 29 years ago when it was new on Williamson Street in Madison. Dane County is full of people who care, and now this matching gift is a way to help them help each other. It’s really about neighbors helping neighbors. Every bit helps, and I’m glad to see this gift go twice as far to help local families in need.” – Fritz Kruger
