Helping Our Neighbors in Need
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton House
St.
Vincent de Paul purchased a 3 story, 5 unit apartment building in the spring of
1989 and named it Elizabeth Seton House. The following fall after renovating the
building, women and children started moving in. In January of 1995, 3 rooms with
a common living area was acquired and named Elizabeth Seton House II. It was
remodeled to house women connected with the Division of Community Corrections.
The Seton House program also includes two recent acquisitions: a
small 2 room house that can accommodate 2 single women or a larger family and a
2 unit apartment.
A ll
units are furnished and utilities are paid by SVdP. Program fees are paid by
clients, and the housing is transitional, up to 24 months. Many tenants
are single parent families who have lost shelter time in Madison and need
more time to find permanent housing.
